There and Back Again
We’ve had the Highland Kar-Pak since our first family trip to Disney World in 2002, and we’ve used it many a times since: trips to Disney World, trips to Gulf Shores, a few visits to Texas and, the big one, our evacuation from New Orleans a few days before Hurricane Katrina struck. BumperBully vs. Bumper Badger
BumperBully is an awsome product, it covers my entire bumper…Also, I called the seller with a question, and I must say customer service was top notch. They were very helpful and knowledgeable about their product, which is a nice change from some other sellers I have dealt with. Last month I ordered a bumper badger, when I got it, It was rolled in plastic & cracked! The bumperbully came packaged in a box, carefully. Most importantly, It does the job its made for. I was walking into my apartment and I watched someone tap the rear bumper of my car when they were parking. I walked over, lifted my bumperbully, and examined my bumper. NOT A MARK anywhere on it! Could Be a Lifesaver
Car side windows are tough and almost impossible to break without a tool. This tool has pointed heads on the hammer which will cause the tempered glass in side windows (NOT the windshield) to shatter when hit with some force. As in all emergencies the key thing is to calm youself so you can think clearly. Mount this tool where you can easily reach it and then practice locating it and removing it from the mounting bracket with your eyes closed. With this tool you can fairly easily break the window and cut your seat belt if needed so you can exit the vehicle, hopefully before it sinks, if you have driven into flood water. You can also use it to rescue yourself or someone else trapped in a vehicle as a result of an accident that has jambed the doors where they won’t open. A Must for Garage Queens
Every time I want to fire up my old 71 Datsun (that’s Nissan for those of you younger than 30) 240 Z there’s a good chance that the battery has drained down and that I can’t start it! Looking around at car forums I read about this nifty little gadget….It’s like a battery trickle charger….sort of. Whereas it’s not recommended to keep a trickle charger hooked up all the time, this one has circuitry to limit the current and sense when the battery needs charging. It only charges at 1.25 amps which is easier on the battery. (more…)

The battery Tender Jr. comes with 1 set of permanent mount ring terminals & 1 set of mini jumper cable clamps so you can hardwire 1 car & use the clamps whereever they are needed.The 1-way quick disconnect on the cord makes things very easy to hook up & unhook. I was looking for chains for my 03 Acura TL-S and the vehicle owners manual said that because of the tight clearance, you should not chain up the type TL-S model. After researching this brand, I decided to give it a chance as the clearance required is much smaller than the DOT type “S” chain rating. I am very pleased with this product. It fits my vehicle even though there is a very tight clearance between the tire and the vehicle components. The cables seem to grip very well in the ice and snow. They are also very easy to put on compared to standard chains. I absolutely recommend them if you live in Colorado. (more…)

just used these chains in tahoe after digging my car out of 3′ of fresh snow on the sloped icy driveway of our ski house. after clearing the snow from the tires, the chains took about a minute for each tire to install. if I had used them before, it probably would have taken less time. my accord climbed up the driveway with barely any slipping…our friends AWD Subaru took 5 guys to help push it out. After I got to plowed roads the chains took about 30 seconds to remove. Just pull the “ripcord” and they basically fall off the tire. highly recommended! (more…)

So I got some of these from the local Napa, They were great. Paid 2x what Amazon charges. They are amazing in snow. I drive a low provile BMW 3 series. It cannot handle 3 inches of snow on my street tires. With these chains I was pushing thru ice and 8 inches of snow like it was the race track. Only problem I had with them is even stay under 30mph on bare road, they wore out rather quickly. I need these to get in and out of the side streets I live on, but the main roads are generally clear. They did last about 5 weeks of daily use, then they pretty much fell apart. (more…)
